Preeti, originally from Mangalore, started her career as a model and soon rose to become an actress. Preeti first appeared in a Rajshri Music video 'Chui Mui' opposite Abbas - The video showed her as the innocent, girl-next-door.She made her debut in Malayalam in Mazhavillu. The film created waves and won her many offers.
Thereafter she appeared in commercials for products like Nirma Sandal soaps, which helped her retain this image.
